Wandsworth CCG-money spent on outside consultants

Last year 2015 Wandsworth CCG spent millions on external consultants like PricewaterhouseCooper. They also spent taxpayers money on hiring commissioning agents in order to tender for contracts, for work that was previously performed by NHS staff. These contracts are increasingly being given to the private sector- which is money lost to the NHS

St George’s What Wandsworth Health Overview and Scrutity Committee Didn’t Get Told

Wandsworth’s Adult Care Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee met on 9 February. There were treated to a presentation on St George’s hospital’s alleged financial turnaround being planned by KPMG. What they weren’t told was that to ‘assist’ with the turnaround the hospital trust board had to borrow £48.7m from the Independent Trust Financing Facility. A loan that has to be paid back in 2018, and of the loan over £36m would be used to pay off two existing loans.
